minute. back to you at the desk. >> thank you. virginia congressman jim moran's son has resigned as his campaign field director. conservative group project veritas released a video. moran gives them a blueprint for voter fraud using fake documents. in a statement, moran said he did not take the man seriously and was only humoring him. the school board approved a 2% pay raise as part of a new three-year contract with the teachers union. this is the first raise for some teachers in several years. raises will cost the school about $13 million. the new contract also addresses issues of paid leave, teachers' rights and working from home. in the race for the white house, president obama and mitt romney are crisscrossing swing states. the president will be in tampa this morning before heading to richmond this afternoon. mr.obama then heads to chicago to cast his ballot in early

voting and finally speaks at a campaign event in ohio later tonight. mitt romney is touring ohio by bus starting today in cincinnati. he will speak in columbus this afternoon and ends the day outside toledo. the fallout continues over the controversial comments made by an indiana senatorial candidate named richard mourdock about rape and abortion. >> it has even caught the attention of president obama while while mourdock works to clarify his statement. ainsley earhart has the for the- up this morning. >> reporter: even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that god intended to happen. >> reporter: the controversial comment about abortion made by richard mourdock has caught at tension of president obama. paying a visit to the tonight show with jay leno, mr. obama took a moment to speak about the issue. >> rape is rape. it is a crime. a crime.

and these distinctions don't make sense to me. >> reporter: mourdock is working to clarify the statement. >> i did not intend to suggest that god wants rape, that god pushes people to rape, that god wants to support or condone evil in any way because that goes against the strongest base of my faith. >> reporter: his democratic opponent joe donnelly called mourdock's comments hurtful for women. >> this controversy is not about pro-life. it is about mr. mourdock's words and his continuation of extreme positions. his words were extreme but maybe as important, hurtful to survivors of sexual abuse. >> reporter: mitt romney has disavowed mourdock's comment but continues it stand by his endorsement.

a local congressman's son has resigned from his father's re- election campaign of ask caught on camera discussing a voter fraud scheme. >> reporter: virginia congressman jim madalyn murray o'hair is running for re- election to his 1th son in office. his son patrick is the campaign's paid field director. the reporter goes up to patrick moran at a cozy restaurant just a block from congressman jim moran's arlington campaign headquarters and tells him he needs help coming up with a scheme to cast ballots in the name of a hundred voter who rarely show up at the polls. moran seems to be humoring him but doesn't mississippi him. the video was released by activist james o'keefe. he told audrey barnes by phone

night until the election. a story you saw first here for fox 56789 montgomery county police continue to investigate the behavior of one of its officers after amateur video was taken of him at an apartment complex. in the video you can see here, the officer pokes the map in the back with an unknown object. then he continues to scuffle with the man pulling husband hair and even striking him in the chest and stomach. police say the investigation is still in its very early stages. >> we have to allow, one, the citizen involved here to tell us what his side of it is and we also need to hear from the officers involved. >> officers were originally called for the complex for a dispute over a cell phone. a trial for two people accused of giving alcohol to teens who were killed on route

50 in catastrophe top last january. four people tied when the car the three teens were in wound up in the wrong lane and crashed into another car killing a 5 #-year-old man. the mother and brother of 18 engineered brianna franco are charged with giving alcohol to minors. rescue crews were called to the l'enfant metro station around 8:00 yesterday morning for reports of an infant not breathing. the witnesses reported trying to help the mother on the train after the infant began having a bloody nose. many of those witnesses say the train was stopped in a tunnel for several minutes while the baby was in trouble. the child was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead. a piece of history up covered. coming up next, the oldest playable recording of an american voice. >> campaign signs vandalized and one area of northern virginia is hit particularly

site man accused of opening fire inside a georgia megachurch was once committed to a maryland mental institute. police say floyd palmer opened fire killing one volunteer. he was arrested several hours later. records show palmer was charged with attempted murder in baltimore in 2001 and in 2004 was sent to the institution after pleading not criminally responsible for a lesser charge. the fire marshal is investigating why several political signs were burned in leesburg early this week. several others were stolen or vappedlized. investigators say most of the trouble has been happening in southwest leesburg. one neighbor said she has been hit three times and she actually woke up to find a sign on fire monday morning. >> i thought about taking it down last friday night but it is kind of a big pain to take
